How to Apply

Candidates must apply online through SSC official website starting from 22-12-2025 to 11-01-2026. Printed applications must reach SSC(NR) by 27-01-2026. International/remote candidates by 03-02-2026.

Cutoff marks will be declared by SSC after exam completion.

No application fee mentioned for existing cadre employees.

Eligibility Criteria

• CSSS: Minimum 6 years approved service in Grade D as on 01.07.2025. Computer literacy required.
• IFS Branch B: Minimum 6 years approved service with mandatory training completed.
• Armed Forces HQ Stenographers: Minimum 3 years approved and continuous service in Grade D.
• Railway Board Secretariat Steno and others follow similar prescribed service conditions.

No specific age limits; eligibility depends on approved service and cadre rules.

Selection Process

Limited Departmental Competitive Examination conducted by SSC. Computer transcription test included for qualifying candidates.

Exam Pattern

Shorthand transcription test on computer for qualified stenographers. Duration and marks as per cadre rules.
