The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will hold an open competitive Computer Based Examination 2026 in the month of July-August 2026 for the recruitment of 731 Government Jobs Vacancy of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ (Group ‘B’, Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade ‘D’ (Group ‘C’) for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India. Therefore, SSC invites online applications in the prescribed format for the Stenographers in various Ministries/ Departments/Organisations of the Government of India.
The Stenographer Group-C and Group-D Recruitment Examination 2026 is an annual recruitment examination of the SSC mandated by the Government of India to select and recruit suitable candidates for the posts of Stenographers. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) holds an Open Competitive Computer Based Examination for the recruitment of Stenographer Grade 'C' (Group 'B', Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade 'D' (Group 'C') for various Ministries/ Departments/Organizations in the Government of India annually. For the recruitment examination of Stenographers 2026, only candidates with the required skills in stenography are eligible to apply. This minimum qualification is the 12th pass for the vacancy of the Stenographer post.
Suitable and desirable candidates should Apply Online in the prescribed format at the SSC Recruitment website from 24/04/2026 to 15/05/2026 only for the SSC Stenographer Recruitment Examination 2026. Date of Window for Application Form Correction and online payment of Correction Charges is from 20/05/2026 to 021/05/2026 (23:00 hours).
An application fee of ₹100/- to be paid through BHIM UPI, Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards. No fee for SC/ ST/ PH/ Ex-Servicemen and Women candidates.
The SSC will hold an Open Competitive Computer Based Examination for direct recruitment to the posts of Stenographer in the month of July-August 2026 only. The scheme of the examination will be like this - 👇 The candidates who are shortlisted in the Computer Based Examination will be required to appear in the Skill Test for Stenography. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi (as opted by the candidates in the online Application Form) at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m.) for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’.
