AP TET Salary & Job Profile
Updated 2026The AP TET is an eligibility test, and as such, it does not carry a specific salary structure. A teacher's salary is determined solely after they are recruited into a permanent teaching position by the Government of Andhra Pradesh or an aided institution. Salary packages for teachers are decided based on the government's pay commission regulations, which typically include a basic pay scale, grade pay, and various allowances such as House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Dearness Allowance (DA). Detailed salary information is provided by the department only when an official recruitment notification for teachers is issued, as remuneration varies depending on the grade, level (primary or upper primary), and location of the teaching posting.
The AP TET 2025 is an eligibility test, not a recruitment exam for a specific post with a defined pay scale. However, qualifying this test makes candidates eligible to apply for various teaching positions in Andhra Pradesh state schools. The roles include:
- Primary School Teacher (Classes I-V): Candidates qualifying through Paper I A or I B are eligible to teach at the primary level in regular or special schools.
- Upper Primary School Teacher (Classes VI-VIII): Candidates qualifying through Paper II A or II B are eligible to teach at the upper primary level in regular or special schools.
The teaching positions available to qualified candidates are within Government, Zilla Parishad, Mandal Parishad, Municipal, and Private Aided Schools. Remuneration for these positions is determined by the state government pay scales applicable at the time of recruitment, which are distinct from the eligibility test results.
