The PM-KISAN scheme provides an annual income support of Rs 6,000 in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each.

The PM-KISAN scheme has specific exclusion criteria. Institutional landholders, families with constitutional post holders, government employees, income tax payers, and professionals are among those not eligible. Small and marginal farmers and those owning cultivable land (who are not otherwise excluded) are generally eligible.

The PM-KISAN scheme was launched on February 24, 2019, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with retrospective effect from December 1, 2018.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, eligible farmer families are provided with a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each.

PMGAY beneficiaries are entitled to 90-95 days of unskilled labour wage under MGNREGS and assistance of ₹12,000 for the construction of toilets through Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G) or other sources.

Under PMGAY, the unit assistance has been enhanced to ₹1.20 lakh in plain areas and ₹1.30 lakh in hilly states/difficult areas/IAP districts.

PMGAY was launched on November 20, 2016, with the aim of providing a pucca house with basic amenities to all houseless households and those living in kutcha and dilapidated houses in rural areas.
