NVS Librarian Eligibility Criteria

- Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Library & Information Science from a recognized university.
- Performance: The candidate must have secured at least 50% marks in the required degree.
- Additional Skills: Working knowledge of computer applications is mandatory.
- Language Proficiency: Must possess a working knowledge of both Hindi and English.
- Desirable: Previous experience working in a residential school setting is considered an added advantage as per official guidelines.
The maximum age limit for candidates applying for the NVS Librarian post is 35 years. Age is generally calculated based on the cutoff date mentioned in the official recruitment notification. Candidates should ensure they have proof of their age, such as a birth certificate or a 10th-grade mark sheet, for verification during the document verification stage.
The selection process for the NVS Librarian post is comprehensive and designed to assess candidates across multiple parameters:
- Tier-I Examination: An objective-type, OMR-based preliminary examination that tests basic aptitude, language skills, and computer literacy. This is a qualifying stage.
- Tier-II Examination: A specialized subject-knowledge test (both objective and descriptive) that carries the primary weightage for merit calculation.
- Interview: A personal interview to assess communication, personality, and suitability for the role.
- Document Verification: Final verification of all academic and personal certificates to confirm eligibility before final appointment.
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years relaxation.
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation.
- Women (all categories, applying for TGT/PGT/Librarian/PRT): 10 years relaxation.
