Candidates must possess the relevant professional qualification for their applied post:
- Staff Nurse: Certificate as Registered Nurse and Midwife having passed 3 years course in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).
- Pharmacist: 10+2 in Science and Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) or Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharma).
- Lab Superintendent: B.Sc with Bio-Chemistry/Microbiology/Life Science.
The age limit for RRB Paramedical Staff is 18 to 33 years as of the crucial date specified in the notification.

- OBC-NCL: 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years (UR), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST)
- Ex-Servicemen: Period of service + 3 years
