CRPF Paramedical Staff (General) Eligibility Criteria
Updated 2026Educational requirements vary strictly by post. Inspector (Dietician) requires a B.Sc in Home Science/Economics with a diploma in Dietetics. Sub-Inspector (Staff Nurse) requires 12th grade plus a 3.5-year diploma in Nursing and registration with the Nursing Council. Assistant Sub-Inspector (Pharmacist) needs 12th pass plus a 2-year Pharmacy diploma. Head Constables generally require 10+2 with specialized diplomas. Constables require matriculation with relevant trade experience. Veterinary posts demand 10+2 with Science (PCB) along with specific veterinary diplomas or certificates.
The age limit for the recruitment is calculated as of 31st August 2020. For high-level posts like Inspector (Dietician) and Sub-Inspectors, the upper age limit is 30 years. For Assistant Sub-Inspectors, the general range is between 20 to 25 years. For most Head Constable and Constable posts, the age limits range from 18-25 years or 18-23 years respectively, depending on the specific trade. Government servants are often granted age relaxation, extending the upper limit to as high as 40 to 45 years depending on the classification of the post and their service record.
The recruitment process involves several mandatory stages: 1) Physical Standard Test (PST) measuring height, weight, and chest size. 2) Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which is qualifying in nature and includes a running race. 3) Written Test, comprising objective questions for 100 marks. 4) Trade Test, which assesses professional capability relevant to the specific post. 5) Medical Examination to ensure fitness for duty.
