In the event that the board conducts a written examination for certain categories, the cutoff marks are determined by the complexity of the test, the number of applicants, and the total available vacancies. Historically, benchmarks are set around 35% to 40% for General and EWS candidates, and approximately 33% for SC/ST/OBC candidates. Achieving this minimum threshold qualifies the candidate for the subsequent stages of the rally. It is important to remember that these thresholds can fluctuate and serve as a baseline for eligibility; they do not guarantee final selection, which is based on a cumulative performance across all stages including the merit list compiled after the medical and skill tests.
