WBCS Exam Prelims Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Bengali (except for candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali) is mandatory.
The minimum age is 21 years and the maximum age is 36 years as on the 1st of January of the year of the examination.
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
- Main Examination (Written and Descriptive)
- Personality Test (Interview)
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (A & B): 3 years
- PwBD: Up to 45 years
- Ex-Servicemen: As per government norms
