Bank of Baroda Local Bank Officer Exam Eligibility Criteria
Updated 2026Candidates must possess a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution. This includes holders of Integrated Dual Degrees (IDD) and professional qualifications such as Chartered Accountants, Cost Accountants, Engineers, or Medical Doctors. A mandatory requirement is a minimum of one year of post-qualification experience as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank or a Regional Rural Bank. It is important to note that experience gained in NBFCs, Fintech firms, Small Finance Banks, or Cooperative Banks does not fulfill the eligibility criteria. Additionally, fluency in the local language of the applied state is required for all applicants.
As of 1st July 2025, the minimum age required for candidates is 21 years, and the maximum age limit is 30 years. All age-related eligibility criteria are determined strictly against this cut-off date.
The selection process for the Bank of Baroda LBO 2025 consists of a series of performance-based filters designed to assess the skills and cultural fit of the candidate. The primary stage is a computer-based online test, covering English, Banking Knowledge, General Awareness, and combined Reasoning and Quantitative aptitude. Qualifying this exam requires meeting both overall and sectional cut-offs. Successful candidates proceed to a psychometric test, which evaluates their professional behavioral traits and sales aptitude. A crucial, mandatory stage is the Language Proficiency Test (LPT) to ensure the candidate can communicate effectively with the local population; candidates who have studied the local language in their 10th or 12th year are exempt from this specific test. The final assessment phases, Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI), focus on the candidate's communication, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities. The final merit list is synthesized from the performance scores across these multiple tiers.
