Job Description

University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test, also known as UGC NET, is a national-level examination conducted to determine the eligibility for admission to Indian universities and colleges for PhD, award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor.

Every year, NTA conducts this examination twice in June & December. The online registration window for the UGC NET Exam for the June Cycle has started at the official website https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/, and the last date to apply is 20th May 2026.

Exam Pattern

The online exam consists of 2 papers with 50 and 100 questions, respectively. The total duration of the exam is 3 hours, with 2 hours for Paper 1 and 1 hour for Paper 2.

Application Fee

The application fee for General/Unreserved is Rs. 1150/-, for General-EWS/OBC-NCL is Rs. 600/-, while for ST/SC/PwD & Third Gender, the fee is just Rs. 325/-. The application fee has to be paid online using Debit/Credit/Netbanking/E-Wallet.

Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
