Job Description
Punjab National Bank (PNB) aims to fill a total of 30 Specialist Officer (SO) vacancies in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical engineering disciplines under Junior Management Grade Scale I.
Candidates must possess the prescribed qualifications/ work experience to be eligible for PNB SO Recruitment 2026.
Punjab National Bank (PNB) has announced the exam date for the Specialist Officer (Junior Engineer) posts for 27th May 2026. The exam is conducted in Computer-Based Mode at various exam centres throughout the country. The questions asked in the exam are from Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English Language, and Professional Knowledge (Engineering).

Selection Process
The selection process for PNB SO Recruitment 2026 depends on the total number of applications received by the bank. PNB has outlined two possible scenarios:
- Stage 1: Online Written Test
- Stage 2: Personal Interview
Scenario A: If the bank receives a large number of applications, candidates must appear for an Online Written Examination followed by a Personal Interview.
Scenario B: If the number of applicants is small, PNB may directly shortlist candidates for a Personal Interview only, based on their submitted applications.
The final merit list will be prepared based on combined scores from the Written Test (if held) and the Interview.
Exam Pattern
If an Online Written Test is conducted, the exam will comprise two parts as outlined below. Candidates should note the negative marking provision β 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
- The PNB SO online written examination will consist of two parts i.e. Part I and Part II.
- Part 1 has 100 questions of 100 marks, while part 2 has 50 questions of 100 marks
- For incorrect attempts, 1/4 mark will be deducted.
- The marks of the candidates for paper II will be evaluated only for those who will qualify for paper I of the online written examination.

Interview: Candidates who qualify in Part I and meet the eligibility criteria will be shortlisted for the Interview based on their Part II score.
- The Interview is worth 50 marks.
- Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for SC/ST and 50% for other category candidates.
- Candidates who meet the minimum marks in the Interview will be considered for selection based on their total score from the Online Test (Part II) and the Interview.

Those candidates who will apply for the PNB Specialist Officer Recruitment will have to pay an amount as the application fee, only then will the registration be completed.
