Job Description

Project Associate (Mechanical Engineering): This work focuses on the advancement of computational mechanics and predictive modeling. It aims to achieve high-efficiency parameter estimation by combining physical laws with advanced data science. The research involves using physics-informed machine learning to solve complex inverse problems and quantify uncertainties in mechanical systems. This research is funded by the SERB Ramanujan Fellowship.


Junior Research Fellow (Mechanical Engineering): This work focuses on the advancement of electric vehicle safety and efficiency within the specific environment of India. It aims to achieve a high-efficiency system for keeping battery packs at the right temperature and tracking their health in real-time. The research looks at how heat affects battery life and develops ways to predict when maintenance is needed before a failure happens. By monitoring these systems constantly, the project helps make EVs more reliable and long-lasting for daily use. This research is funded by ANRF CRG.

Eligibility
  • For Project Associate (Mechanical Engineering): PhD (submitted or awarded) from reputed institute. Required Skills: familiarity with Bayesian inverse problems; working knowledge of Python, TensorFlow, and generative machine learning techniques.
  • For Junior Research Fellow (Mechanical Engineering): Master's Degree, M.Tech/M.E in Mechanical Engineering (Thermo-fluids), Energy Engineering/Renewable Energy/Thermal Engineering with GATE qualification. Desirable: Experience in Battery Management System (BMS) design and applications/Thermal management/Real-time condition monitoring systems. Required Skills: Basic knowledge in Battery Chemistry/Thermal management and control systems for battery/BMS/Battery Degradation Mechanisms; embedded systems programming.
