The selection process for the UP LT Grade Teacher (Male/Female Branch) is conducted in two primary stages to ensure the selection of high-quality educators.

1. Preliminary Examination: This serves as a preliminary screening test. It consists of an objective-type paper. Candidates are required to achieve the minimum cut-off marks set by the commission to move forward to the next stage.
2. Main Written Examination: This is the deciding stage of the recruitment. It consists of descriptive questions based on the candidate's subject of specialization. The final selection and preparation of the merit list are based solely on the scores obtained in this Main examination.

There is no interview stage in this recruitment process. Final recommendation for appointment is determined by the candidate’s performance in the Main examination and the availability of vacancies in the candidate’s respective category and subject.

The official recruitment details specify a standard age limit of 21 to 40 years for applicants.
