TS TET Eligibility Criteria

For Paper I (Classes I to V), candidates must have completed their Intermediate or Senior Secondary education with at least 50% marks, coupled with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). Alternatively, a degree in a relevant field with a two-year diploma may also be considered.
For Paper II (Classes VI to VIII), the requirements involve a bachelor's degree (B.A., B.Sc., or B.Com) alongside a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree. Candidates who have completed an integrated four-year degree program, such as B.A. B.Ed or B.Sc. B.Ed, are also eligible to apply. These academic standards are vital as they ensure that the candidate has the foundational knowledge necessary to impart quality education at the upper primary level. Candidates are advised to verify their specific degree specializations against the official notification requirements before beginning the application process.
Specific age limit criteria are usually defined within the recruitment rules for teachers rather than the eligibility test itself. However, candidates must ensure they meet the minimum age requirements set by the state government for general teacher employment. All age-related eligibility is checked during the formal recruitment process subsequent to qualifying for the TS TET.
The selection process for teachers involves qualifying for the TS TET followed by a state-run recruitment examination. TS TET itself comprises an objective-type paper. For Paper I, candidates are assessed on Child Development and Pedagogy, two languages, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies.
