MPPSC Assistant Professor Exam Eligibility Criteria 2026

To be considered eligible for the Assistant Professor role, candidates must meet the specific educational standards set by the UGC and the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission. The baseline requirement is a Master’s degree in the relevant subject from a recognized Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

• Academic Performance: Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks in their Master’s degree. For those in a grading system, an equivalent grade in the relevant subject is required.
• Eligibility Tests: A critical requirement is the mandatory clearing of the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR. Alternatively, candidates who have passed the Madhya Pradesh State Level Eligibility Test (SET) or SLET are also eligible.
• Discipline-Specific Criteria: For subjects like Computer Science, candidates must possess a Master’s degree in the concerned or allied field, adhering to the 55% mark requirement.
• Consistency: The degree must be in a discipline relevant to the subject applied for, covering areas like Arts, Commerce, Humanities, Law, Social Sciences, and Sciences.

• Other Categories: Additionally, there is a provision for an extra year of relaxation for specific conditions as per the state government’s reservation policies. Candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) or those with physical disabilities may also avail of relaxation as per the prevailing state norms, provided they submit valid documentation.
