Candidates applying for the position of Assistant Section Officer must fulfill the following educational and experience criteria:
- Academic Degree: Applicants must hold a Bachelorβs degree from a recognized university or institution.
- Experience: A mandatory requirement is a minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Upper Division Clerk (UDC) in Central Government, State Government, Autonomous Bodies, or Public Sector Undertakings.
- Verification: Candidates are required to produce valid service certificates from their respective employers to substantiate their claims of experience during the document verification stage.
Age Eligibility
The upper age limit for applicants is set at 35 years. As per the official recruitment guidelines, there is no mention of a minimum age requirement. Candidates must ensure they meet the age criteria as of the relevant date stipulated in the official notification to remain eligible for the selection process.
Selection Stages
The selection process for the KVS Assistant Section Officer post is designed to be efficient and merit-based:
- Tier-1 and Tier-2 Examination: The process involves a two-tier written examination system.
- Final Merit List: The most critical aspect of this selection is that the final merit list is prepared strictly based on the marks secured in the Tier-2 examination.
- No Additional Rounds: There will be no interviews or skill tests conducted for this post. Success is entirely contingent upon the marks achieved in the written test.
Category-wise Age Relaxation
- Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST): 5 years.
- Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years.
- KVS Employees: No age bar.
- Government Servants (with 3 years of continuous service in the same or allied cadre): 5 years for General, 10 years for SC/ST, and 8 years for OBC candidates.
- Persons Domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir (01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989): As per government norms.
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 15 years for SC/ST, 13 years for OBC, and 10 years for General category.
