DSSSB PRT Exam Eligibility Criteria 2026

Eligibility for the DSSSB PRT post requires candidates to meet specific academic standards. For the Directorate of Education, candidates must possess a Senior Secondary (12th grade) qualification with at least 50% marks, supplemented by a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Alternatively, a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) or a 2-year Diploma in Special Education is accepted. Graduation combined with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education also meets the criteria. Additionally, candidates must have passed the CTET and studied Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, or English as a subject in the 10th grade.

For the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), the requirements include a 12th pass certificate with 50% marks (with 5% relaxation for SC/ST categories), along with a 2-year Diploma in Primary Education/JBT/DIET/B.El.Ed. from a recognized institution. The candidate must have passed Hindi in the 10th grade and possess a valid CTET certificate. Computer literacy is considered a desirable qualification for all posts.

The age limit policy for the DSSSB PRT 2026 recruitment is designed to ensure a fair entry age for candidates while respecting government norms regarding age relaxation. The maximum age for applicants is set at 30 years. Age is calculated based on the cutoff date mentioned in the official notification. Relaxation in the upper age limit is provided to candidates belonging to specific reserved categories, enabling a wider pool of qualified professionals to participate in the recruitment process.

The selection process for the DSSSB PRT post is conducted in stages to ensure that only the most qualified candidates are selected. The primary stage is the Objective-type Written Examination, which is conducted in an online (Computer-Based) mode.

The examination is split into two sections:

• Section A: Consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) covering General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Arithmetic, English Language, and Hindi Language (20 marks each).
• Section B: Consists of 100 MCQs based on the Subject Concerned, specifically focusing on the NCTE curriculum and teaching methodology.

A negative marking of 0.25 marks is applied for every incorrect answer. Candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying marks to proceed to the merit list, which are 40% for General/EWS, 35% for OBC (Delhi), and 30% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. Final selection is based on the normalized scores of the computer-based exam.

• OBC: 3 years
• PwBD: 10–15 years (depending on the category)
• Departmental candidates: Up to 5 years for Group B posts
• Ex-Servicemen: Period of military service plus 3 years (up to a maximum of 55 years)
