Mandatory qualifications vary by post:
- Graduate Level Posts: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- Technical Posts: Diploma or Degree in relevant Engineering/IT field.
- Secretariat Posts: Graduation with a minimum speed of 35 WPM in English typewriting.
The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 40 years for open merit candidates as of January 1st of the recruitment year.

- Ex-Servicemen: Up to 48 years
- Government Service/Contractual Employees: Up to 40 years
