The age limit for the SEBI Grade A recruitment is strictly defined. Candidates must be under the age of 30 years as of the specified cut-off date, meaning they must be born on or after 01 October 1995. This age limit is a standard prerequisite for maintaining the cohort's requirements for entry-level officer positions. Age relaxations are provided to specific categories in accordance with government norms.
The selection process consists of three rigorous phases:
- Phase 1: Online Screening: An initial stage common for all applicants to assess aptitude and foundational knowledge. It is qualifying in nature and includes two papers.
- Phase 2: Online Examination: A more focused technical evaluation that carries 85% weightage in the final merit calculation. Only those who pass the Phase 1 cut-offs proceed here.
- Phase 3: Interview: The final stage, accounting for 15% of the total weightage, where candidates are evaluated on their suitability, personality, and analytical capability for the role.
- SC/ST: 5 years relaxation.
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation.
- PwBD: 10 years relaxation.
- Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation provided as per government norms.
