Uttarakhand Police SI (2026 Recruitment) Eligibility Criteria
Updated 2026- General Candidates: Must have completed a Graduation degree from a recognized University or Institute.
- Ex-Serviceman: A minimum qualification of Intermediate (10+2) is required to be eligible for the post.
- General Requirement: All candidates must ensure their degrees are recognized by the appropriate regulatory bodies in India to qualify during the document verification stage.
The age limit for candidates is calculated as of 1st July 2024. Candidates are required to be between 21 and 28 years of age to be eligible for the post. Proof of age, based on secondary school certificates or equivalent, must be provided during the document verification process. The government has also provided provisions for age relaxation to accommodate specific social and occupational categories.
The selection process for the Uttarakhand Police SI is a rigorous, multi-tiered approach designed to assess the physical, mental, and academic aptitude of candidates. It consists of four consecutive stages:
- Physical Standards Test (PST): Initial screening based on physical parameters such as height, chest, and general physical condition.
- Physical Endurance Test (PET): A performance-based test evaluating athletic capabilities, including running, jumping, and strength-based tasks.
- Written Examination: An objective, multiple-choice examination evaluating knowledge in languages, intelligence, and mathematics.
- Medical Test: The final stage to ensure candidates meet the health standards required for police service.
- SC/ST/OBC (Uttarakhand): 5 years relaxation in the upper age limit.
- Dependants of Freedom Fighters (Uttarakhand): 5 years relaxation in the upper age limit.
- Ex-Serviceman: 3 years relaxation after the deduction of the total service period performed in the armed forces.
