Delhi Police Driver Exam Eligibility Criteria

In addition to educational attainment, candidates must possess a valid driving license for heavy motor vehicles and demonstrate proficiency in vehicle maintenance and traffic rules.
As per the official recruitment notification, the age limit for applicants is set between 21 and 30 years as of 1st July 2025. This criteria ensures that the force recruits individuals who are at a stage in their professional lives where they can handle the demanding nature of police transport duties.
The selection process consists of four distinct stages:
- Computer Based Examination (CBT): An objective-type test covering General Awareness, General Intelligence, Numerical Ability, and technical knowledge regarding driving and vehicle maintenance.
- Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE & MT): A test of physical fitness involving running, long jump, and high jump, along with physical measurement (height and chest).
- Trade Test: A practical examination to assess driving skills for light and heavy vehicles, knowledge of traffic signs, and vehicle maintenance.
- Document Verification & Medical Examination: The final stage to verify all submitted credentials and confirm that the candidate meets all health and medical standards required for police service.
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Sportsperson (State/National Level): 5 years
- Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India orders.
- Departmental Candidates (General): Up to 40 years.
- Departmental Candidates (OBC): Up to 43 years.
- Departmental Candidates (SC/ST): Up to 45 years.
