The selection process for the position of Upper Division Clerk at ISRO is a multi-stage affair aimed at evaluating both the academic knowledge and the practical skills of the applicants. The process comprises two distinct stages:
- Written Test: This is the initial and primary stage of the selection process. Candidates are tested on four subjects: General English, Quantitative Aptitude, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Knowledge. Only those candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks (50% for UR and 40% for reserved categories) proceed to the next stage.
- Skill Test: Following the written test, the qualified candidates are required to appear for a skill test, which assesses the practical application of their administrative abilities, particularly computer proficiency.
Final selection is based on the performance across these stages, ensuring that the recruits possess the comprehensive skillset required for handling the clerical and analytical tasks associated with the UDC role.
- OBC Category: Upper age limit relaxation up to 3 years.
- SC/ST Category: Upper age limit relaxation up to 5 years.
- Other Categories: Serving Government employees, Ex-servicemen, Persons with Disabilities (PwBD), meritorious sportspersons, and women (widows, divorced, or judicially separated) are entitled to age relaxations as per the existing orders of the Government of India.
