IAF AFCAT Exam Eligibility Criteria

Flying Branch: Graduation (3 years) in any discipline with 60% marks and Mathematics/Physics at 10+2 level, or B.E/B.Tech (4 years) with 60% marks.

Ground Duty (Technical): B.E/B.Tech degree in specified engineering disciplines with 60% marks and cleared Section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India.

For the Flying Branch, candidates must be aged between 20 and 24 years as of the crucial date specified in the official notification.

  1. AFCAT Online Competitive Examination.
  2. Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) for Technical Branch.
  3. AFSB Testing (Stage I: OIR Test & PPDT; Stage II: Psychological, Group, and Interview tests).
  4. Medical Examination at Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME).
  5. Final All India Merit List based on written and AFSB scores.
  • Ground Duty Branches: Age limit is 20 to 26 years.
  • Upper Age Limit Relaxation: Candidates holding valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) issued by DGCA may be granted relaxation up to 26 years for the Flying Branch.
