Union Bank of India SO Exam Eligibility Criteria

Updated 2026

Applicants must possess specific academic qualifications combined with professional experience to qualify for the Wealth Manager (MMGS-II) role.

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a full-time 2-year postgraduate degree (MBA / MMS / PGDBA / PGDBM / PGPM / PGDM) with a specialization in Finance. The degree must be awarded by a university or institution recognized by the Government of India or relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in a wealth-management role is mandatory. This experience can be gained as an Officer or Manager in public, private, or foreign banks, broking firms, securities firms, or asset management companies.
  • Desirable Certifications: Possessing certifications such as NISM, IRDAI, NCFM, or AMFI is considered a desirable qualification, which may add value to the candidate's profile during the selection process.

The age limit for the Wealth Manager (MMGS-II) post is set to ensure that the bank recruits candidates with relevant professional maturity. For the 2025 recruitment, the candidate must be between 25 and 35 years of age. This age criteria is strictly applied to all applicants. It is recommended that candidates review their age as of the specified reference date to confirm their eligibility before proceeding with the application. The age limit is structured to provide an opportunity for mid-career professionals with specific post-qualification experience to contribute to the bank's wealth management segment effectively.

The selection process for the Wealth Manager post is rigorous and consists of multiple stages designed to assess both theoretical knowledge and interpersonal skills:

  • Online Examination: This is the primary objective assessment. It contains two parts: Part I (Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and English) and Part II (Professional Knowledge). The test totals 225 marks and must be completed in 150 minutes. A penalty of 0.25 marks per wrong answer is applicable.
  • Group Discussion: Conducted to assess leadership, communication, and team coordination. It carries 50 marks, with specific qualifying scores for different categories.
  • Personal Interview: This stage evaluates job-specific knowledge, leadership abilities, and overall suitability. It also carries 50 marks. Only those who qualify through the GD and written stages are typically invited, usually in a 1:3 ratio to the number of vacancies.
  • Final Merit: The final selection is determined by the combined scores achieved across the applicable assessment rounds.
  • Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST): 5 years
  • Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) (OBC-NCL): 3 years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen (including ECOs/SSCOs with 5 years’ service): 5 years
  • Persons affected by the 1984 riots: 5 years
