Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, located in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, is the primary spaceport of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Established in 1971, it serves as the launch base for India's satellite launch vehicles. The center is responsible for the integration and launch of rockets and satellites, playing a critical role in India's space exploration missions. Beyond its technical mandate, it manages various welfare facilities, including schools for the children of its workforce.
