The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) is a statutory autonomous body established in 2003 under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. Headquartered in Chennai, the NBA is responsible for implementing the Biological Diversity Act, 2002. Its mandate includes facilitating the conservation of biological resources, promoting sustainable use of its components, and ensuring fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising out of the utilization of biological resources and associated traditional knowledge.
नेशनल बायोडायवर्सिटी अथॉरिटी (NBA) पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार के तहत 2003 में स्थापित एक वैधानिक स्वायत्त निकाय है। चेन्नई में मुख्यालय, NBA जैविक विविधता अधिनियम, 2002 को लागू करने के लिए जिम्मेदार है। इसके जनादेश में जैविक संसाधनों के संरक्षण को सुविधाजनक बनाना, इसके घटकों के सतत उपयोग को बढ़ावा देना, और जैविक संसाधनों और संबंधित पारंपरिक ज्ञान के उपयोग से उत्पन्न लाभों का निष्पक्ष और न्यायसंगत बंटवारा सुनिश्चित करना शामिल है।
