About Organisation
The Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute (CSIR CGCRI) is a premier national research laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Government of India. Established in 1950, it is headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal. The institute is dedicated to conducting advanced research and development in the fields of glass, ceramics, and related materials. Its mandate includes developing innovative technologies, providing technical support to industries, and fostering scientific excellence to contribute to national growth and industrial advancement.
