Job Description
The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has released the notification for the UPTET 2026, a qualifying examination for teaching positions at Primary (Classes 1–5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6–8) levels in the state.
UPTET serves as a mandatory eligibility test for recruitment of teachers in government and recognized schools across Uttar Pradesh. The examination evaluates candidates’ teaching aptitude, subject knowledge, and understanding of pedagogical principles.

Selection Process
The selection will be based on a written test consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). There will be no negative marking. The test duration will be 150 minutes.
Exam Pattern
- Primary Level: 150 MCQs covering Child Development, Language I (Hindi), Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies.
- Upper Primary Level: 150 MCQs covering Child Development, Language I (Hindi), Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit), and Subject-specific sections (Math/Science or Social Science).
