Selection Process

The selection process consists of a two-stage examination. First, candidates must appear for a computer-based written test comprising two papers, each carrying 250 marks, covering subjects like General Medicine, Paediatrics, Surgery, and Preventive Social Medicine. A penalty of one-third mark is applied for every incorrect answer. Candidates who qualify in the written stage are then invited for a Personality Test, which carries 100 marks. Final selection is based on the cumulative performance in both the written exam and the interview.

Exam Pattern

The written exam is conducted in computer-based mode. Paper I covers General Medicine and Paediatrics (250 marks, 2 hours). Paper II covers Surgery, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, and Preventive & Social Medicine (250 marks, 2 hours). A Personality Test of 100 marks follows for qualified candidates.
