Selection Process

The selection process consists of a two-stage examination. The first stage is a Computer-Based Written Examination comprising two papers, each carrying 250 marks, focusing on General Medicine, Paediatrics, Surgery, Gynaecology, and Preventive Social Medicine. Candidates who qualify in this written stage are then invited for a Personality Test, which carries 100 marks. Final selection is based on the cumulative performance in both the written test and the interview, followed by document verification and a medical fitness assessment.

Exam Pattern

The written exam consists of two papers. Paper I covers General Medicine and Paediatrics, while Paper II covers Surgery, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, and Preventive & Social Medicine. Each paper is 2 hours long and carries 250 marks. There is a negative marking of one-third for every incorrect answer.
