Selection Process

The selection process for the UP GIC Lecturer recruitment involves multiple stages. Initially, candidates must clear the Written Preliminary Examination, which is an objective-type screening test. Those who qualify the Prelims cutoff proceed to the Main (Written) Examination. Following the Mains, candidates are invited for an interview and subsequent document verification. A final merit list is prepared based on the performance in the Mains and interview stages, excluding the Prelims marks.

Exam Pattern

The Preliminary Examination consists of 120 objective-type questions totaling 300 marks. The paper includes 40 questions on General Studies and 80 questions on the optional subject. Each correct answer is awarded 2.5 marks, while 0.83 marks are deducted for every incorrect response. Unattempted questions do not attract any negative marking.
