Selection Process

The selection process for the SBI Probationary Officer role is conducted in three distinct phases. The first stage is the Preliminary Examination, which acts as a screening test to shortlist candidates for the Mains. The second stage is the Mains Examination, a comprehensive computer-based test covering reasoning, data analysis, banking awareness, and English. Finally, candidates who qualify in the Mains are invited for a psychometric test, group exercise, and personal interview to assess their suitability for the banking sector.

Exam Pattern

The Mains examination consists of objective tests totaling 200 marks and a descriptive test of 30 marks. The objective section includes Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis and Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, and English Language. A negative marking of 0.25 is applicable for every incorrect answer provided in the objective section.
