Selection Process

The selection process for the Assistant Loco Pilot role is multi-staged. It begins with the first stage Computer Based Test (CBT 1), which is qualifying in nature. Candidates who pass this move to the second stage (CBT 2), consisting of Part A and Part B. Following this, a Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) is conducted. The final stages involve rigorous Document Verification and a comprehensive Medical Examination to ensure candidates meet the physical standards required for locomotive operations.

Exam Pattern

CBT 2 consists of two parts. Part A covers Mathematics, General Intelligence, Basic Science, and General Awareness with 100 questions in 90 minutes. Part B focuses on trade-specific knowledge with 75 questions in 60 minutes. A negative marking of 1/3rd applies to both parts.
