The selection process for RIE CEE 2026 is based on a composite merit score. The examination itself is conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format, which evaluates candidates on Teaching Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and Language Proficiency.

Following the exam, a weighted score is calculated where 60% of the weightage is derived from the RIE CEE performance and 40% from the marks obtained in the qualifying examination (Class 12 or graduation). Final admission is granted through a multi-round counselling process based on these merit scores.

The RIE CEE 2026 consists of 80 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) to be completed in 2 hours. The paper is divided into three sections: Teaching Aptitude (40 questions, 80 marks), Reasoning Ability (20 questions, 40 marks), and Language Proficiency (20 questions, 40 marks). A negative marking of 0.5 marks applies to every incorrect answer.
