The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has officially released the results for the Bachelor of Cybersecurity (B.Cyber.) admission test for the 2026-27 academic session. This program, managed by the Wadhwani School of AI and Intelligent Systems (WSAIS), represents a significant addition to the institute's undergraduate offerings. The selection process involved a rigorous admission test and hackathon conducted on-campus on July 5, 2026. Candidates who participated in this assessment can now verify their selection status through the official institute portal. Successful applicants are required to proceed with the next phase of the admission process, which includes reporting to the campus for document verification and formal enrollment. This program is designed to equip students with advanced skills in cybersecurity through a unique 2+2 academic structure, combining intensive coursework with practical industry-aligned internships. The selection process for the B.Cyber program was conducted in multiple stages. Initially, candidates were shortlisted based on their performance in the JEE Main examination. Following this, the shortlisted candidates were invited to an in-person admission test and hackathon held at the IIT Kanpur campus. This assessment evaluated technical proficiency in areas such as cryptography, web security, network security, and OSINT. Final selection is based on the performance in this specialized test, and selected candidates are required to report to the institute for final admission formalities.

The admission test was conducted as a hackathon-style assessment on July 5, 2026. It focused on practical cybersecurity skills including web security, API security, network security, reverse engineering, and OSINT.

The application fee was ₹1,600 for female candidates and SC/ST/PwD candidates, and ₹3,200 for all other categories.
