The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) has officially published the Round 1 seat allotment results for the 2026 academic session. This announcement follows the conclusion of the choice-filling process, which took place earlier in July. Students who participated in the counselling process based on their performance in the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026 can now access their allotment status through the centralized admission portal. The result provides clarity on the campus and programme assigned to each candidate based on their merit and preferences. The counselling process is a critical phase for students aspiring to join the prestigious BS-MS dual degree, BS Economics, or BTech programmes offered across the seven IISER campuses. The selection process for IISER admission 2026 is conducted through a centralized counselling mechanism based on the IAT 2026 scores. After the declaration of the seat allotment result, candidates are required to log in to the official portal to view their status. Upon allotment, candidates must choose between 'Freeze' or 'Float' options. The 'Freeze' option confirms the current seat and concludes the counselling process for the candidate. The 'Float' option allows the candidate to retain the current seat while remaining eligible for potential upgrades in subsequent rounds if vacancies arise. Finally, candidates must pay the Seat Acceptance Fee to confirm their admission.

The Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) is mandatory for all candidates to confirm their allotted seat. For General, EWS, OBC-NCL, PwD, and Kashmiri Migrant/Pandit categories, the fee is ₹35,000, which includes a ₹10,000 non-refundable administrative charge. For SC and ST candidates, the fee is ₹17,500, which includes a ₹5,000 non-refundable administrative charge. Payment must be made online through the official admission portal before the round-wise deadline.
