Selection Process

The selection process for the CA Intermediate level involves a rigorous written examination conducted by the ICAI. The exam is divided into two groups, each consisting of three papers. Candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks in each paper and an aggregate of 50% in all papers of a group to be declared pass. The evaluation is based on theoretical and practical knowledge of subjects like Accounting, Law, Taxation, Auditing, and Management. Successful completion of both groups is required to proceed to the Articleship and Final level.

Exam Pattern

The CA Intermediate exam consists of six papers in total, split into two groups. Each paper is of 100 marks and has a duration of 3 hours. The exam is conducted in a single shift from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Candidates are provided with 15 minutes of reading time before the start of the exam. The syllabus covers Advanced Accounting, Corporate and Other Laws, Taxation, Cost and Management Accounting, Auditing and Ethics, and Financial/Strategic Management.
