Selection Process

The selection process for the Scientist 'C' post is conducted in two distinct stages. The first stage is a Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of 200 objective-type multiple-choice questions, covering both General Aptitude and subject-specific scientific knowledge. Candidates are shortlisted for the interview based on their performance in the CBT, typically in a ratio of 5:1 against the number of vacancies. The final merit list is determined by the combined scores of both the CBT and the interview.

The CBT is a 120-minute examination comprising 200 marks. It includes 100 questions on General Aptitude and 100 questions on Scientific/subject-related topics. A negative marking of 0.5 marks is applied for every incorrect answer.
