| Age Limit | As per JEE (Main) 2026 eligibility norms. |
Job Description
Overview
The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has officially released the seat allotment results for the Special Round-I and DASA (UG) admissions for the 2026 academic session. This process facilitates the filling of vacant seats across the NIT+ System, including National Institutes of Technology (NITs), IIEST Shibpur, Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs). These rounds are conducted independently of the JoSAA counselling process, meaning candidates must have completed fresh registration and choice filling to be considered for these allotments.
Key Responsibilities
- Candidates must log in to the official portal to verify their seat allotment status using their JEE (Main) 2026 credentials.
- Selected applicants are required to exercise their willingness options, such as Freeze, Slide, or Float, within the specified reporting window.
- Successful candidates must complete the online reporting process by uploading necessary documents and paying the Institute Admission Fee-II (IAF-II).
- Applicants should monitor the portal regularly for any queries raised by the document verification officers and respond within the stipulated deadlines.
- Students must download their Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip for future reference and physical reporting at their respective institutes.
- Candidates who have been allotted a seat must ensure the timely payment of fees to confirm their admission, as failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the offer.
Why Apply
Participating in the CSAB Special Rounds provides a critical opportunity for students to secure admission into premier technical institutes that remained unfilled after the initial JoSAA rounds. This process ensures that high-quality technical education seats are optimally utilized, offering a second chance for candidates to pursue their preferred engineering or architecture programs.

Selection Process
Seat Allocation Process
The seat allocation is conducted based on the candidate's JEE (Main) 2026 rank and the choices filled during the CSAB Special Round registration process. Since these rounds are fresh, previous choices from JoSAA are not considered.
Willingness and Reporting
Once a seat is allotted, candidates must choose between options like Freeze, Slide, or Float. Following this, they must complete online reporting, which involves document verification and payment of the Institute Admission Fee-II (IAF-II). Failure to complete these steps within the designated timeline leads to the forfeiture of the allotted seat.
