The selection process for the Bihar Vidhan Sabha Security Guard position involves a preliminary examination followed by physical efficiency tests. The preliminary exam is designed to screen candidates based on their general knowledge and aptitude. Those who qualify in the written test are invited to participate in the physical assessment phase. The physical test evaluates the candidate's fitness, including running and other physical tasks, to ensure they meet the requirements for the security guard role. Final selection is based on the cumulative performance across these stages, followed by document verification.

The preliminary examination consists of objective-type questions covering various subjects. Candidates are tested on their general awareness, reasoning, and basic mathematical skills. The exam is conducted in a pen-and-paper or computer-based format as specified by the board. There is a specific duration for the test, and candidates must manage their time effectively to answer all sections. Negative marking may be applicable as per the official guidelines provided in the recruitment notification.

The application fee details were specified during the initial recruitment phase. Candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories were required to pay the prescribed fee, while SC, ST, and female candidates were eligible for fee exemptions or concessions.
