UGC NET stands for University Grant Commission National Eligibility Test, a qualifying test to evaluate an Indian candidate’s eligibility for admission to Indian universities and colleges for Ph.D., award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor, and appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D. Every year, NTA conducts this examination in June & December; for this year June cycle notification has been released. UGC NET examination will be conducted for a total of 83 subjects; the syllabus for each subject will be different from others and will be held in online mode.

NTA has started accepting the application process for the UGC-NET June 2026 exam at the official website www.ugcnet.nta.nic.in from 29th April 2026 and the last date to submit the applications is 20th May 2026 by providing personal and educational details, uploading a scanned photo and signature, and then paying the application fee online.
While filling UGC NET Application Form 2024 for the June cycle exam, candidates will have to pay the prescribed category-wise application fees. Candidates must note that they will only be able to pay application fees till 20th May 2026, after this specified date, the payment window will be closed.
