Selection Process

The selection process consists of a two-paper written examination. Paper I focuses on Rajasthan's history, culture, geography, and general ability. Paper II is subject-specific, covering computer fundamentals, programming, and networking. Both papers carry 100 marks each with a 1/3 negative marking for incorrect answers. Candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks in each paper to qualify, with a 5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

Exam Pattern

Two papers of 100 marks each. Duration is 2 hours per paper. Negative marking of 1/3 per wrong answer. Five options (A-E) provided; unattempted questions require darkening option E.

The Senior Computer Instructor post carries Pay Matrix Level 10 and the Basic Computer Instructor post carries Pay Matrix Level 8 as per the 7th Pay Commission. During the two-year probation period, only a fixed monthly remuneration is payable - no additional allowances.

The exam for Senior Computer Instructor is proposed on 22 August 2026 and for Basic Computer Instructor on 23 August 2026. The Board reserves the right to change these dates; the final schedule will be notified on rssb.rajasthan.gov.in.

The exam has two papers, each of 100 marks and 2 hours duration, totalling 200 marks. Paper I covers Rajasthan GK and General Ability. Paper II covers subject-specific computer topics. Negative marking of 1/3 mark applies for each wrong answer. Each question has 5 options (A to E), and unattempted questions must have option E darkened.

General category and creamy layer OBC/MBC candidates must pay an OTR fee of ₹600. Rajasthan-domiciled non-creamy layer OBC/MBC, EWS, SC, ST candidates, and all Divyang applicants pay ₹400. Candidates who have previously paid the OTR fee need not pay again.
