The District Urban Development Cell, Bidar, under the Government of Karnataka, has initiated a recruitment drive to fill 264 vacancies for the position of Pourakarmika (Sanitation Worker). This recruitment is specifically for the Bidar Mahanagara Palike and Basavakalyan Nagarasabhe. The initiative aims to strengthen sanitation services in these urban local bodies by hiring dedicated personnel through a direct recruitment process.
This role offers a stable opportunity to contribute directly to the public health and hygiene of the Bidar district. Selected candidates will receive wages as per the state Labour Department's minimum wage standards, along with essential benefits like ESI and PF, ensuring financial security and social protection for the workers and their families.
The selection process prioritizes candidates based on their previous experience in urban local bodies. First preference is given to those who have served on an outsourcing basis for at least one year, verified through ESI/PF or salary records.
Second, family members of deceased outsourced pourakarmikas may be considered for compassionate appointment. Third, workers with experience in solid waste management or public toilet maintenance are evaluated. If vacancies remain, other marginalized groups and general candidates are considered based on established priority orders.
