Junior Engineer posts are generally at Level 11, and Class-III non-gazetted posts such as Foreman, Pharmacist, and Sectional Overseer are at Level 8.

Candidates from outside Nagaland may apply for unreserved posts, but 80% of the vacancies are reserved for Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland belonging to specified groups (any Naga Tribe, Kuki, Kachari, Garo, or Mikir) who are indigenous inhabitants of the State. Backward Tribe reserved posts are strictly for candidates from the specified tribes mentioned against each item number.
