Selection Process

The selection process consists of two stages. Stage-I is a written test carrying 50 marks, featuring objective-type questions on General Knowledge, Science, Mathematics, English/Hindi, and Professional Knowledge. Stage-II involves a practical demonstration (35 marks) and an evaluation of testimonials/prizes (15 marks). Candidates must secure at least 40% in both stages to qualify. A final merit list is prepared based on the total score of 100, followed by a mandatory medical fitness examination at a Railway Hospital.

Exam Pattern

The written test is 60 minutes long and includes objective-type questions. Subjects include General Knowledge, General Science, General Mathematics, English, Hindi, Professional Knowledge, Reasoning, and Aptitude. Negative marking of 1/3rd per wrong answer applies.
