Eligibility
  • General / EWS Category: Minimum 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent from a UGC-recognized university.
  • Reserved Categories (SC, ST, BC-I, BC-II, PwBD): At least 50% marks in Master’s degree. (Relaxation applicable only to permanent residents of Jharkhand).
  • Final Year Students: Can apply provisionally if appearing or awaiting results. Must secure the required percentage within 2 years of result declaration.
  • Ph.D. Holders: 5% relaxation if Master’s degree completed on or before 19th September 1991.

Selection Process

The exam is designed to test teaching & research aptitude along with subject knowledge. The JPSC JET 2026 will be held in offline mode using OMR sheets, and candidates need to answer multiple-choice questions (MCQs). It consists of two compulsory papers that must be completed within a single 3-hour session without any breaks. Since there is no negative marking, candidates are encouraged to attempt all questions.
