Selection Process

The selection process consists of a single-stage objective competitive examination conducted in CBRT or OMR mode. The exam is divided into Part-A, covering Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness (90 marks), and Part-B, focusing on subject-specific knowledge (120 marks). A total of 210 questions are to be answered in 3 hours. Negative marking of 0.25 applies for incorrect answers. Candidates must secure at least 40% in both parts to qualify for document verification. Final merit lists are prepared based on exam performance and category-wise reservation.

Part-A: 90 Marks (Reasoning, Aptitude, Constitution, Current Affairs, Language). Part-B: 120 Marks (Subject-specific). Total: 210 Marks, 3 Hours duration.

After completing five years of satisfactory service, they will be eligible for regular appointment at 7th Pay Commission levels: Level-2 (₹19,900–₹63,200) for Lab Assistants and Level-4 (₹25,500–₹81,100) for Senior Lab Assistants.

Laboratory Assistant posts require a Diploma in the relevant engineering field (Electrical, E&C, Computer, or Civil). The Senior Laboratory Assistant post requires a second-class Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Geology, or Industrial Chemistry. All candidates must also possess basic computer knowledge.
