How to Apply

Candidates can apply online for the BSNL Senior Executive Trainee recruitment 2026, by following the steps given below.

  1. Register using a valid mobile number and email ID, as OTP will be sent for verification. Complete the registration and generate login credentials.
  2. Log in using the details and fill the online application form with correct personal, educational and communication details.
  3. Select the post stream carefully, as candidate can apply for only one trade (Telecom / Finance)
  4. Keep the following documents ready before applying:
    1. Recent passport size colour photograph with white background in JPG/JPEG format (20 KB to 50 KB).
    2. Signature in JPG/JPEG format (10 KB to 20 KB).
    3. Class 10 certificate for date of birth verification.
    4. Degree certificate of essential qualification.
    5. Consolidated marksheet or transcript of all semesters/years.
    6. Photo identity proof (Aadhaar Card, Passport, Driving Licence or Voter ID).
    7. Category certificate for SC/ST/EWS/OBC candidates, if applicable.
    8. Medical certificate for PwBD candidates, if applicable.
  5. Upload scanned copies of photograph, signature and required documents in the prescribed format.
  6. Pay the application fee online only through Internet Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card.
  7. Submit the online application after verifying all entered details, latest by 2026-04-30.
  8. Download and save the computer-generated registration form for future reference. Need not send any printed copy of the application form to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) at this stage.
  9. If multiple applications are submitted, the latest application will be treated as final and earlier ones will be rejected.
  10. After the closing date of registration, an application editing window will be opened for 7 days (May 1-8, 2026).
  11. Admit card will be made available on the same registration link after successful completion of the application process, well before exam.

Cutoff Marks

  • General / EWS: 40% in each part and 50% overall
  • SC / ST / OBC / PwBD: 35% in each part and 45% overall

If the examination is conducted in multiple sessions, normalization of marks will be adopted to arrive at fair scores. Merit list will be prepared based on total marks obtained in Part I (Common) and Part II (Core), provided the candidate secures the prescribed minimum qualifying marks.

Age Limit

21 to 30 Years as on 2026-03-07. Age relaxation applicable for OBC (NCL) 3 years, SC / ST 5 years, PwBD (UR) 10 years, PwBD (OBC-NCL) 13 years, PwBD (SC/ST) 15 years.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of Computer Based Test (CBT), preparation of merit list, document verification, and medical examination.

Final Merit

Candidates shortlisted in the merit list will be called for document verification and detailed Medical Examination, before final Appointment.

Notable terms about service

  • Bond of Rs. 9,00,000 will be executed for a minimum service period of 5 years.
  • Probation period will be 2 years including training.
  • Total training duration will be 52 weeks (13 weeks managerial, 13 weeks functional, 26 weeks on-the-job).
  • Probation may be extended by 6 months if training examination is not cleared. Failure after extended period will result in cancellation of appointment.
  • After probation, designation will be Senior Executive (E-3 Pay Scale).
  • Eligible for promotion to Assistant General Manager (E-4) as per rules.

Exam Pattern

Computer Based Test (CBT)

The examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Multiple Choice Objective Type Test. The questions will be objective in nature and the test will include negative marking. Total duration of the examination will be 180 minutes. Each correct answer will carry 1 mark, while for each wrong answer, 0.25 mark will be deducted.

Provisional answer key will be displayed on the official portal within five working days after the exam. Candidates will be allowed to submit objections for a period of seven days. A fee of Rs. 500 per question or answer will be applicable, which will be payable online only and will be non-refundable. Evaluation will be on the basis of final answer key.
