Updated 2026Educational Requirements
Eligibility for the DMRC Maintainer position is strictly linked to specific vocational qualifications. All candidates must possess an ITI (NCVT/SCVT) certification from a government-recognized institution. The trades are mapped specifically to the post as follows:
- Maintainer Electrician: Must possess an ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in the Electrician trade.
- Maintainer Electronic Mechanic: Must possess an ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in Electronic Mechanic, Information Communication Technology System Maintenance, Information Technology, Mechanic Computer Hardware, Mechanic-cum-Operator Electronic Communication System, Mechanic Industrial Electronics, Radio & TV Mechanic, or Power Electronics System.

It is non-negotiable that the institution awarding the degree or certificate must be officially recognized by the government. Certificates from unrecognized institutes will not be accepted during document verification.
Age Limit and Eligibility
The DMRC specifies a strict age range for candidates applying for the Maintainer positions. The age limit is a fundamental component of the eligibility criteria. As per the standard requirements, the candidate must be between 18 and 30 years of age. This age limit is crucial and is calculated as of the date specified in the official notification. Candidates failing to fall within this bracket on the reference date will be considered ineligible. It is advisable to have official proof of age, such as a 10th-grade certificate or birth certificate, ready for verification during the later stages of the recruitment process.
Selection Process Breakdown
The DMRC Maintainer recruitment involves a two-stage selection process designed to evaluate the candidate's technical and physical capabilities:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): This is the first and primary stage of the selection process. It consists of an objective-type written examination that covers both general subjects and technical knowledge. Only candidates who secure the qualifying marks in the CBT are shortlisted for the next stage.
- Medical Examination: Candidates who pass the CBT are required to undergo a thorough medical examination. This is conducted to ensure the candidate meets the physical fitness standards required for the demanding nature of the Maintainer role. The medical test is the final hurdle, and successful candidates are then considered for the merit list.
Category-wise Age Relaxation
The DMRC provides age relaxation to various reserved categories as per government directives. This helps ensure fair representation and opportunities for all eligible candidates. The following relaxations are applicable to the upper age limit:
- SC/ST Candidates: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
